BENEDETTA CRIPPA
Benedetta Crippa (b. 1986, Italy) participated in Domestic Systemic Pandemic with 'Army of Me' a painting made in reference to the Lucia Perez murder in 2016.
Benedetta runs her graphic design practice in Stockholm with projects across the wide scope of visual communication. Her main area of research concerns ways in which graphic design can expand beyond current boundaries of methodology and aesthetics.
She designs visual identities, digital platforms, printed matter, strategies and visual interventions for transformation and pleasure beyond dominant traditions. Her background and visual research in Italy, Nepal and Central Asia have shaped her distinctive visual language, where she uses ornamentation and experimental investigations to revisit ideas around beauty, form and power.
Engaged with design pedagogy and artistic research, Benedetta is committed to a sustainable design field. Since 2018 she is lead graphic designer at the Stockholm Environment Institute, and in 2019–2020 is a guest teacher at Konstfack University as initiator of the first course of its kind on sustainabilty through visuality.
Benedetta is also one of Galleri Majkens high esteemed board members, and holds a MFA Visual Communication from Konstfack.
